Cessation of violence is the only route to peace for Palestine-Israel

The Muslim Community Association (MCA) calls for immediate cessation of violence in Gaza and its borders, to protect innocent lives.

Hamid Hossain Azad, newly-elected president of MCA, expressed his deep concerns over the escalating violence and indiscriminate destruction of homes, hospitals and mosques inside the besieged city of Gaza.

He added that the Israel-Palestinians conflict is the root cause of most of the problems in the Middle East, rooted in Israel’s decades’ long brutal occupation of the Palestinians — and in flagrant breach of international law.

It is incumbant upon the international community to help resolve this conflict and bring about a lasting peace. But this can only happen when the Palestinians are treated as equals and they are not bypassed by other actors.

Our prayers go out to the victims, and we hope for a fair resolution to the conflict founded on human rights, and international law.
