MCA’s statement on devastating earthquake in Turkey

A 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck in southern Turkey on Monday 6th February 2023. The tremor was followed by dozens of powerful aftershocks, including another magnitude 7.6 quake, which caused loss of thousands of lives, injured many more thousands, and left tens of thousands of families homeless.

MCA Central President Musleh Faradhi and General Secretary Hamid H Azad said,
“we are deeply saddened by this devastating news express our heartfelt and sincere condolences to the families of the victims of this devastating earthquake and aftershocks which affected wide area in south – east Turkey and north – west Syria.

We appreciate that in response to this devastating emergency majority of humanitarian agencies came forward to help the victims of this earthquake, many of whom are already victims of a devastating war.
We urge all our members in particular and humanity in general to donate and contribute to help the victims of this disaster with emergency support and reconstruction works.”
