Muslim Community Association

MCA – A balanced and broad-based British Muslim Organisation

Faith communities in the UK have a cherished record of providing value and hope to adherents and the wider society. The Muslim Community Association (MCA) is proud to be a part of the long historic tradition of faith based organisations in the UK and is playing a positive role in contributing towards a cohesive and thriving society.

MCA is a unique assembly of respected Muslim personalities, scholars, and experienced community workers who strived to build a balanced and all-inclusive organisation serving the needs of the community. From its initial vision and concept, MCA has evolved through the years to deliver community-based work which can respond to modern day issues and trends.

As a faith based organisation enshrined with the values of mainstream Islamic principles, MCA and its members are dedicated to serving the communities around them by promoting a middle path understanding of Islam and its spiritual teachings, ideals and moral values. By focussing on its key objective – to strive for the pleasure of Allah (God) by worshipping Him and serving humanity – MCA aims to bring about a spiritual, moral and social renewal and demonstrate the benefits of faith based values.

MCA is a grassroots community organisation, targeting mainly British born and bred Muslims, but with membership open to all. To achieve its aims, MCA engages in outreach and awareness, collective community endeavours, training and development and proactively encourages, facilitates and connects Muslims to uphold civic responsibilities as citizens of Britain. By working in partnership with other organisations to remove barriers in access to education, jobs, public services and other causes of social justice, MCA champions the advancement of equality for all communities and removal of any obstacles to integration.

MCA is a non-partisan organisation that does not seek any political position, nor does it support or is affiliated to any political party. Members may hold personal affiliations provided that they are not contradictory to MCA’s aims and objectives. Active engagement in civic duties and the democratic process is encouraged to uphold the ability to live with and promote faith in an open and free society.

In order to achieve its aims, MCA works to demystify any controversial and divisive issues through engaging in dialogue and discussions with individuals and institutions positively, and focusses on the importance of fostering harmony and community cohesion. The Muslim population in the UK is diverse and multicultural and MCA seeks to accommodate the needs of all groups, concentrating on common matters and setting aside differences and individual preferences. At the heart of MCA, are the principles by which it is guided – the Quran, Sunnah and our precious Islamic heritage – that mould and shape the nature of our approach.
